Well, are you a blogger on WordPress platform? Do you write long posts? Well, now you can remove yourself from the hassle of managing long posts! You can simply split them into various pages, which are automatically numbered by WordPress itself. Since this is done without a plugin, the page loading time will also not be affected! Also, if you have ads on your sidebar, you would want that the post should not exceed the total length of the sidebar as well, so that you don't loose clicks on your ads.
This is an inbuilt feature in WordPress, to be able to split posts. But, most of the bloggers are not aware of this thing. But, in order to use this, your theme needs to support it! Unfortunately, my theme does not support it yet. Soon, when I upgrade to the Thesis theme, I will be using that quite a number of times! Carrying out this is pretty simple. The steps involved are as easy as 1,2,3.
The steps involved are :
- Click on the HTML Tab in the WordPress Add or Edit Post window, on the post you want to add pages.
- Navigate the cursor to the point where you want the post to be split!
- Insert this at that point :
<!--nextpage-->
Well, the better part of splitting the post into pages is that, the comments on one page appear on the other, since the post is the same! It is better than making 2-3 different posts and having different comments on all!
I hope you liked the post. Share it, Tweet it, +1 it or just Stumble it if you liked it, because after all sharing is caring!
