Neon glow effects are seen everywhere. Whenever you visit a shop at night, you might spot a Neon Glow Hoarding there. The advantage of Neon Glow hoardings or text is that it outlines the text and its so bright that it looks attractive. Well, now moving on with the tutorial, I would like to tell you all that you can create this text effect in just 5 minutes maximum and you can impress everyone around!
Before we move on, you might want to have a look at the other text effects available on my blog :
This is what the outcome is going to be :
- To begin with, open up a new document,any size and give it a black background(using the Paint Bucket tool).
- Type the text you want to appear with Neon Glow in white color, and whatever font you want. I used the Angelina font.
- Next, go to Layers -> Layer Styles and choose Stroke. Apply the following settings(click to enlarge) for the Blue Neon Effect. The HEX Code used for the stroke is : #0299ff
- Next, check the outer glow in the same Blending Options window. Apply the following settings. The HEX code used here is : #0165c9. You can fiddle with the spread and the size so that you obtain the effect you want.
- Click on OK. And you are done with your effect! Here is the output that came out for me :
Well, to make a similar effect in Green Neon color, use the following HEX Codes and the rest will remain same.
- Stroke Hex Color : #07ed22
- Outer Glow Hex Color : #1ca40a
This is how it looks in Green color!
