Sync Facebook Profile Pictures and Birthdays : Symbian

Having a contact picture for your contacts on your phones is good! Sometimes, you do not remember people by their names, rather by their faces. This feature comes by default in the Android phones that you purchase, but the "old" and still common Symbian OS on Nokia Phones does not have that feature, as far as I know! And since, I am still stuck on a Symbian OS phone, I always wanted to have pictures of all my Facebook and Phone book contacts synced, I tried searching how to do that and finally, I came across this application, which solved my problem.

The application is named Socially, which does the job of syncing the Profile pictures with the contacts and also, the birthdays of your friends on Facebook to your Phone's calendar. So, to begin, you must have a phone running Symbian OS. The list of supported devices can be found by clicking here. Please note, this is the list of phones supported by Socially, this list does not say that your phone does not run Symbian. When you have verified that the application can run on your phone, go ahead and download the application. Then, install it on your phone and follow these steps :

• Run the Socially App from the list of your installed Applications.


• When you run the app for the first time, you will need to authorize the application in your Facebook account, which can be done easily with the available in-app menu.


• After you have successfully authorized the app, go to the "More" tab on the top-left corner of your screen.

• Here, you can sync the profile pictures and birthdays of your friends easily by choosing the appropriate option on the screen.

 Other Features :

Socially will also pull the latest update from your friend’s social network and put it on your screen when they call you. What’s more, if you get a call from a number not in your phonebook, it will also attempt to give you a location and the network from which the call is being placed.
