iOS 5 : Should you Update?

iOS 5, the latest iOS version from Apple came out for the general public this week. And updating to it has been quite a tedious task for some of us, due to Error 3200 and Error 3194. But, it is actually good to update it to the latest iOS, the iOS 5. So, here I would discuss and highlight a few reasons why you should update to iOS 5 and a reason why you should not update to iOS 5.

The iOS 5 is said to have a lot of new features that the older versions did not have. The main features include :

  • iCloud : The most awaited iCloud service on this version of iOS lets you store your contacts, calendar entries, notes, bookmarks, reminders and a few other services.

  • Better Notification Center : This version of iOS has a notification center(drop-down), which has been adapted from the Android version of the notification center.

  • iMessage : iMessage is an inter-device messaging client, like the Blackberry Messenger Service, which will allow users to exchange messages on their iDevices.

  • Twitter Integration - Apple has integrated Twitter into the iOS 5, which you can use to tweet about the latest updates, straight from your device.

  • No PC Required : Now, if you wish to update your iOS device, you need not connect it to a PC to update, you can update it directly on your device, over WiFi or 3G Connection. Also, you can sync up your iTunes on PC with your device over WiFi.

There are a lot more features that you can read about on the Apple website.

This version of iOS supports the following devices :

  • iPhone 3GS

  • iPhone 4 and 4S

  • iPod Touch 3G and 4G

  • iPad and iPad2

Now, let's get on the topic, why you should update or you should not update.

Reasons to Update :

  • This is the latest version of the iOS for your Apple devices.

  • This has all those features that you would ever want on your portable device.

Reasons not to Update :

  • I believe, the only reason not to update would be that an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5 has not been made public and if you are a jailbreak fan, you should wait till the jailbreak its out and then update.

Stay tuned on our blog to know when the jailbreak for this iOS comes out. If you liked the post, share it, tweet it, +1 it!. Keep subscribed to our RSS Feeds so that you do not miss a single post on TechHive.
