Backing your blog or website is one of the most important thing, because you never know what might happen to your site! A regular backup is a must for every website, I mean at least once a day or thrice a week is recommended. Backing up the database can sometimes be a tedious task, so here is an easy way to back up the database without the use of any plugin in WordPress.
Backing up with phpMyAdmin :
- Login to your phpMyAdmin on your server.
- On the left side, choose the database that belongs to your blog(click on the name).
- On the next page that appears, choose export.
- Make sure all the tables in your database are selected, they are shown on the left side of the page.
- Now, make proper selections, referring to the screenshot below(click to enlarge it).
Make sure you choose the correct options or you will not be able to make a proper backup. - Next, go down to the save file area and make correct selections.
- Now click on 'Go' and save the file to the location where you want to save it.
- Congratulations, you have successfully backed up your database!
