[How To] Backup WordPress Database using phpMyAdmin

Backing your blog or website is one of the most important thing, because you never know what might happen to your site! A regular backup is a must for every website, I mean at least once a day or thrice a week is recommended. Backing up the database can sometimes be a tedious task, so here is an easy way to back up the database without the use of any plugin in WordPress.

Backing up with phpMyAdmin :

  1. Login to your phpMyAdmin on your server.

  2. On the left side, choose the database that belongs to your blog(click on the name).

  3. On the next page that appears, choose export.

  4. Make sure all the tables in your database are selected, they are shown on the left side of the page.

  5. Now, make proper selections, referring to the screenshot below(click to enlarge it).

Make sure you choose the correct options or you will not be able to make a proper backup.

  6. Next, go down to the save file area and make correct selections.

  7. Now click on 'Go' and save the file to the location where you want to save it.

  8. Congratulations, you have successfully backed up your database!
