Instagram is a powerful photo editing and sharing application available for the iPhone and Android Devices. It enables you to take pictures, edit them with the inbuilt photo editor and share them to various social networks. Recently, it was purchased by Facebook Inc. Also, I would say Instagram isn't the only worth having. You could keep other apps and use them when you like!

- Photosynth - Photosynth is an app by Microsoft Inc. that has the capability to take various pictures and then stitch them together in a spherical panorama. It is a fully guided app, that helps you click stills for the panorama. The panorama's shot with this app can be shared on Facebook, Twitter and Photosynth.
- Hipstamatic - This is an app that will give you the actual feel of using a camera. You can actually swap the lenses, films and the flash settings, giving you the actual feel of a camera! Using this app, you can share your pictures on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Flickr and Tumblr! This is something that no other app offers!!
- TiltShift Generator - This is again an amazing app that lets you control the blur you want and at what point of your picture do you want that! Also, it lets you change the contrast, brightness and the saturation of your pictures! This also has built-in support for email, Twitter and Facebook!
These were the few Instagram alternatives I found useful! I have been using them on my iPod for quite some time and was fascinated by them!
