[Infographic] Website Hosting Decision

This is an infographic that helps your decide what type of hosting is needed for your website! This was developed by  Rackspace UK Hosting for their clients, which would help them decide the type of hosting that they require!
OK so you already know that we’ve been helping customers define their hosting needs for some years now.

But as customers adopt more service based computing resources like cloud hosting, it’s only logical that they will also now ask more of their hosting provider to ensure they are getting the correct solution.

So we thought hey, let’s produce an infographic to take customers through a simple decision making process on a route to the solution that’s right for them.

It’s clear clean and enjoyably easy to read, we think it works really well – if you agree with us then please share it with your friends!

We hope that this infographic helps you decide the type of hosting you would need for your blog or website. Keep subscribed to TechHive for more!

Save SHSH Blobs of Old Firmware : Apple

SHSH Blobs are a Hash Signature system that Apple developed in order to sign the firmware that is being added to a device. The advantage of saving SHSH Blobs of your device before Upgrading to a new version of the firmware are quite obvious. If you have SHSH Blobs saved, you can always Downgrade to that version of the iOS even after updating to a newer version. Say, you updated to a newer firmware but could not find a way to Jailbreak it and now you want to go back to the older version of the iOS in order to be able to jailbreak it. But, if you do not have SHSH Blobs, you simply can not downgrade your firmware. Thus, saving SHSH Blobs of your iOS is really important before upgrading your firmware!

Well, this difficult task has been made easy by one of the iPhone Developer, iH8Sn0w. This developer developed an application of windows, named iFaith, which is capable of saving SHSH Blobs of all iOS Versions from 3.x.x to 5.0.1 . Let's begin with how to save your SHSH Blobs.

  1. Download the latest version of iFaith (v1.4.2 as of 25/02/12) and open it.

  2. An instruction screen will show up. Click OK on that.

  3. Next, a screen similar to this will show up. Click on Dump SHSH Blobs.

  4. Then, you need to click on Proceed and then again Proceed. After this, it will ask you if you are using Apple TV 2? Select the appropriate answer depending on your device.

  5. Now, power off your device, while it is connected to the computer and click Start on the screen.

  6. Now, enter into the DFU Mode, which can be done easily by following the on-screen instructions.

  7. When you enter into the DFU mode successfully, the app will automatically start saving your SHSH Blobs. After it is done, it will ask you where to save them. Browse to the location and click Save.

Hope you gained something from this post and were able to save your SHSH Blobs for future use. Get back to TechHive to know how to downgrade using these saved SHSH Blobs soon! Keep subscribed for updates!

Tips to increase Blog Subscribers

A blog basically runs on how many subscribers are there on the blog or in an easier language, the number of people visiting or keeping update of the happenings on the blog! And every blogger has the dream to make his blog on the top. But to do that, you need to concentrate on things to help you achieve that!

Below are a few tips that will help you increase the number of blog subscribers on your blog:

  1. Easy - To Find Buttons  : Place easy to find buttons on your blog so that the subscriber can easily find the various ways to subscribe and subscribe in the preferred way! Also, you should never force the reader to subscribe by showing up various pop-ups. You can simply place handy buttons and links to all the ways that you provide to subscribe to!

  2. Various ways to Subscribe :Expand the ways you provide to subscribe. Subscriber wants to subscribe in the way they want and not in the way you want to! Someone might want to stay tuned to updates on the Facebook page while some will like to get daily updates in their mailboxes! So, always include the various ways to subscribe that are being followed in the blogosphere!

  3. Update Frequently: Updating your blog regularly and frequently pulls your subscribers to you! If you do not update the blog frequently, then keeping your blog subscribers is not an easy job! People tend to unsubscribe to your blog if they find that you are not up do date. They would rather prefer to subscribe to  a blog that updates more frequently!

  4. Feed Count :Always avoid feed count because feed count sometimes leaves a bad impression on the reader. For an instance, if the reader feels that you blog would have at least 1K+ readers, but you display that you have 700, the reader can sometimes feel that there is no point in subscribing! So, to avoid that thing, avoid showing your feed count!

Well, I hope these ways help you get more blog subscribers and keep subscribed to TechHive for more such thrilling posts!
